Amazon.com Inc. is expected to delay the launch of an electronic book service in Japan beyond its target date of this year due to difficult negotiations with publishers, according to industry sources.
Publishers have resisted Amazon's proposed contract terms that would give the U.S. online retailer the right to set prices.
Amazon has expanded its e-book sales in the United States by offering far lower prices for e-books than for paper versions, the sources said Monday. (Japan Times)
