Sanyo Electric Co. has removed its logo from the headquarters building in Moriguchi, Osaka Prefecture, ahead of a groupwide reorganization next month by parent Panasonic Corp.
As part of the move, all the logos of the major appliance maker, acquired by its bigger rival after management troubles in 2009, will be replaced with Panasonic logos, company officials said.
The building for Sanyo's headquarters was completed in 1999, and the logo was installed that year. It was about 3 meters tall and 9 meters wide and installed on the exterior of the 10th floor. (Japan Times)
