Japan's aging roads, bridges and other public infrastructure are in need of a huge rebuilding effort after years of neglect, according to the Nikkei newspaper editorial on Monday, which warning of a "slow disaster" in the making after public funds during the past two decades were channeled into trophy projects -- sometimes derided in western media as bridges to nowhere - often with little regard for their use or viability.
