Aya Terakawa booked a trip to the London Olympics by winning the women's 100-meter backstroke in a Japan record of 59.10 seconds at the national championships on Thursday.
Terakawa, who won a silver at last year's world championships in the 50 which is a non-Olympic event, chipped 0.03 off her own mark to return to the Summer Games after missing out on Beijing four years ago.
