Tokyo's Ueno Zoo said Monday it has confirmed that two giant pandas kept at the zoo have mated, while deciding to suspend showing them to the public until Tuesday to observe their condition.
The zoo said it confirmed the male panda Ri Ri and the female panda Shin Shin had mated at an outdoor enclosure after Shin Shin showed signs of excitement in a matchmaking meeting on Sunday.
