The number of people working at Narita International Airport has declined by around 9,715 from three years ago as a result of the global economic downturn and massive corporate downsizing at airline and air transport companies, the airport's operator said. Over the three years to last November, the number fell by 20 percent to 38,689, the first drop over a three-year period since the airport opened in 1978, Narita International Airport Corp. said Monday.
