Japan hope to open the floodgates against Malaysia as Takashi Sekizuka's side desperately seek to win big in a crunch Olympic qualifier on Wednesday.
"We need to score early so we can put ourselves in a position to dictate how the game flows," Japan striker Kensuke Nagai said. "We need to be aggressive, and we need to be fearless. We've got to be dynamic."
The 2-1 defeat to Syria on Feb. 5 saw Japan drop to second in Group C of the Asian final qualifiers for the under-23 competition in London. The two teams are level on points and goal difference, but Syria are ahead on total goals scored. (Mainichi)
